Preview — not yet released. This page previews an upcoming improvement to Reporting Hub. See the pre-announcement in the Release Notes for more detail about the change.
Overview
Reporting Hub is the analytics product built into the Thought Industries platform. It is powered by Looker, and presents pre-built dashboards covering learner engagement, content performance, enrollment, assessments, and commerce — plus custom report templates you can build on yourself.
These pages document the concepts you need in order to read a dashboard accurately: what a view is, and which records a tile is and is not counting.
In this section
Dashboard, tile, tooltip, view, and custom report — the Looker terms used throughout these docs.
Why most tiles show only active records, how to tell which views are filtered, and how to include inactive or deleted rows.
All 149 dashboard tiles that apply an active-only default filter, and the views each filter is applied to.
Reporting Hub vs BI Connector
Both products surface the same underlying analytics data, but they are separate and are used differently.
| Reporting Hub | NRT BI Connector | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | In-platform analytics built on Looker | Direct access to the Redshift analytics warehouse |
| How you use it | Dashboards and custom reports in the admin UI | SQL over an ODBC connection, or your own BI tool |
| Data shape | Looker views, some of them derived tables | Redshift tables, one row per record |
| Inactive and deleted records | Excluded by default on most tiles | All rows present; filter on statusgroup yourself |
The Redshift column behind both is documented on the BI Connector Status Group page, and every available table is listed under BI Connector Tables.
